Total Commander (former Wincmd) is a file manager replacementfor Windows. This is the 16 bit version for Windows 3.1.A 32 bit version is also available as tcmdr656.exe . TotalCommander handles archives like subdirectories. It supportsZIP/ARJ/LHA/RAR/UC2/TAR/GZ/ACE archives, and has a built-in(internal) ZIP-compatible packer. The search function allowsto search for files inside archives, even for text. A commandline helps starting programs with parameters, and a fullyconfigurable button bar allows to launch programs and inter-nal commands. The built-in viewer can show files of any sizein text, hex, and binary format. FTP servers on the Internetcan be accessed like local drives. A configurable directoryhotlist (bookmarks) and history list make directory navi-gation easier. The sync function allows to synchronize twocomplete directory trees, and the compare function allows tocompare two files by content.
